Based on the IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ EVO is a concept project that explores the direction of high-performance electric vehicles and the untapped potential of the EV aftermarket and customization space.
The name EVO, short for "EV + Evolution," represents a new set of criteria for the currently undefined and emerging market of high-performance EVs and EV customization. The combination of green and blue in the vehicle and logo symbolizes the identity of high-performance electric vehicles, emphasizing the robustness of EV characteristics such as high output, consistent torque, and stable power delivery.
The vehicle's exterior design is an in-house customization concept by Hyundai Motor Company.
Following the principle of "OEM+," the design maintains the foundation of the original vehicle while incorporating elements that reflect a high-performance image. These include a large front inlet opening, wide fender flares, and a rear wing.
The aerodynamic concept is further enhanced through fin-type side skirt trims, and outlet designs that extract dirty air generated by the wheels. A roof fin adds a slight futuristic touch.
To offset the inherent weight characteristics of electric vehicles, the IONIQ EVO adopts a newly designed low center of gravity and lightweight suspension geometry, lightweight wheels from VOLK, and high-performance lightweight brake systems from BREMBO, significantly improving handling and dynamic performance.
